If you are taking a vacation away from home and have decided on an exotic place like Mount Kinabalu, you should take into consideration Mt Kinabalu Weather.
Weather Forecasts
You should expect to avoid warm clothes, if you are not going to the mountainous area, because Mt Kinabalu Weather is a warm one. You will rarely get more than 32 degrees or less than 24 degrees Celsius. Regarding the humidity, it will probably be pretty wet, at about 70% to 80% all year round. Still, during the wet season, from October till March, the humidity can be higher. You can also get some rain in the dry season, from April till September.
In the mountaineous area, it can get as low as 15 degrees Celsius and in peak of Mount Kinabalu, at 4095 m above sea level, the climate can even get rougher, with even 0 degrees Celsius.
Even though Mt Kinabalu Weather is mainly a rainy one even in the dry season, your day will not all be spoiled, because in this season it usually rains for a couple of hours. Rainfall livens up the jungle, invigorates the rivers and makes the green much greener. Rain is crucial to sustain the jungles and why not, people as well.
Sunrise and Sunset
Because Mount Kinabalu is close to the equator, the sunrise and sunset vary very little all year round. In summer, the sunrise is at 5.45 am and the sunset at 6.40 pm. In wintertime, the sun rises at 6.30 am and sets at 5.45 pm.
Activities Depending on the Weather
Although the climate is almost all the time hot and wet, it is not so uncomfortable after a few days spent on the mountains. All the hotels and establishments have air conditioning. If you wish to get a wonderful mountain suntan, you should be very careful with this. The sun is ever present and you need a high factor sun screen to protect you from the harmful sunbeams.
Go snorkeling and experience a wonderful time seeing the exciting the underwater. You will discover plants and fish that you have never seen before. Go on a mountain ride but be careful to take with you warm trousers, jackets and warm socks. Gloves will also do the trick not because it is that cold, but because you will need them when trying to climb the mountains on a rope.
My personal advice is to climb Mount Kinabalu during January till April (under 150 mm each month), because the precipitations are not so many and the climb not so difficult. Mt Kinabaly Weather can sometimes be rough, but do not forget that nature usually is like that, so weather variations can take place anytime during the year.
If you are not such an outdoor activities lover person, you can just wake up early to see the clear sky and unwind in an enchanting place of beauty and wonderful silence.
Dress up casually and take a tour of the wonderful places! Go to a Mosque or another religious place, but be sure to wear long trousers, shirts with long sleeves and closed shoes. Other clothes or footwear is considered disrespectful for this type of place.
Mt Kinabalu Weather can be tricky, but if you know how to respect it, you will have a wonderful and amazing time.
